Message Evolution/Techalon: Bulky. UV turns it to dust in 3 years. Not terribly water repellent.

Poly cotton. 2-3 year life. Not water repellant at all.

Sunbrella: 10 year life but you will probably have to Scotch Guard it every year or 2 or you will loose all water repellency. . Great sun protection. Not too bulky. DO NOT put in a dryer.

Weather Shield: Very compact. Not great in wind. Excellent water repellency. Not as good at screening the sun as Sunbrella. Easy to wash and dry. Fragile after 3 - 4 years. Zero ding protection but that's true of most if not all fabrics.

Weather Shield HD: Very water repellent. Screens sun well. My Covercraft bought from Big Sky fits very well. Difficult to wash. I have one for my TT and one for my DD A3. 4-6 year life if in daily sun. Expensive.

I have always put a cover on my Z's since 1980. Not only do they keep the paint from fading or, worse cracking, they also keep the interior looking good longer. Don't have to wash the car as often either.
